The department provides for the well-being of Solano County's present and future residents and the public at-large through administration and enforcement of Federal, State, and Local laws and policies pertaining to transportation, building construction, land use planning environmental health, and recreation.
The Parks & Recreation Division of the Department of Resource Management is the steward of Solano County's natural and cultural resources.
The Division creates safe environments and showcases the County's facilities in order for visitors to enjoy diverse recreational experiences.
THE POSITION Park Ranger Assistants learn how to use the proper tools to perform routine grounds maintenance work in County park, enforce County Park regulations, learn techniques and procedures to keep parks clean and safe and perform related duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have experience working independently with a proactive approach to working with support staff and the visiting public.
The ideal candidate will possess and practice the following competencies:
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with special skills in effective delivery of enforcement messages and de-escalation Land stewardship practices Friendly and approachable Safety oriented Technology asset uses in park settings The Park Ranger is located in the Parks and Recreation Division of the Resource Management Department.
As a Park Ranger you would operate within a Solano County park, monitoring park grounds and visitors for safety and security, assisting and informing park visitors, protecting the parks' natural resources, and leading Park Ranger Assistants and Departmental Aides.
The approximate salary for Park Ranger is $29.

Experience:
One year of experience in park operations, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled maintenance work that included considerable contact with the public; OR One year of experience performing duties equivalent to the Solano County class of Park Ranger Assistant.
