WHAT DOES A SENIOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY SPECIALIST? As a Senior Equal Opportunity Specialist you will serve as a program evaluator and technical advisor for a national equal opportunity compliance program designed to assure compliance with and enforcement of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other statues and regulations. In this position, you will monitor, review, and evaluate equal opportunity compliance in assigned field organizations, identify operational problems, recommend corrective action to the appropriate level of management and provide technical assistance as needed, especially in the areas of language access and the provision of reasonable accommodations. You will be responsible for managing discrimination complaints filed by taxpayers or taxpayer representatives and perform quality reviews of investigative work products.As a Senior Equal Opportunity Specialist you will:
Conduct comprehensive technical visits to IRS federally assisted and conducted program offices. Determine approach to addressing issues related to the quality and efficiency of work and compliance operations. Evaluate systemic factors related to program effectiveness and compliance practices pertaining to quality controls and availability of resources. Serve as national office focal point for the identification and resolution of problems (i.e., programmatic, technical or procedural) stemming from contacts, tensions or conflicts with external organizations or interest groups. Coordinate with other components to assure uniformity of procedures and interpretations in resolving issues related to the administration of the program, especially in the areas of language access and the provision of reasonable accommodations. Identify enforcement and conciliation accomplishments implemented on a corporate, industry, or nationwide basis to ensure non-discrimination for protected groups in a program or activity that is federally assisted or conducted. Ensure systemic problems are identified, and resolved. Keep superiors informed by means of oral and written reports, and analyses of the status of the agency's activities, and the actions taken or proposed to resolve operating problems. Review and interpret policy issuances, regulations and procedures developed by the Department of the Treasury and other headquarters operational units in terms of operational feasibility, resource requirements, consistency, public relations and other program considerations. Coordinate nationwide targeting, forecasting, and scheduling of compliance activities such as an external civil rights review for agency grantees and operational units. Monitor, review and analyze complaint trends and resolutions. Develop civil rights guidance and training for grantees and operational units. You must 1 year of experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
demonstrated accomplishment of civil rights assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of investigative and training requirements and techniques. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where you analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of inquires/investigations in which you interpreted, explained and applied knowledge of external civil rights, regulations, policies and administrative decisions to negotiate and resolve unprecedented problems; Utilizing fact finding, analytical, problem solving, investigative, and interviewing methods and techniques; and organizing and presenting facts, findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a logical verbal or written manner.- The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Services. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
