Program Support Assistant

Provides credentialing and privileging advisory services to individual providers as well as clinical service personnel. Provides credentialing and privileging advice to individual providers as well as clinical service personnel on a wide range of operating situations and problem related to the substantial nature of the office services provided in support of the organization. Participates in the planning, development, staffing, and evaluation of the administrative activities. Interacts, in a timely and efficient manner, with each applicant to assist in the completion of required forms and documents necessary to credential and privilege the individual. Analyzes documentation provided by applicants requesting initial medical staff appointment and clinical privileges, or requesting renewal of medical staff appointment and clinical privileges. Completes primary source verification of all active and inactive state medical licenses and DEA certification, various education and training, allegation of malpractice, continuing medical education, board certification, and current and past privilege at other medical facilities. Incumbent completes National Practitioner Data Bank and Medicaid/Medicare Sanction Report screening prior to presentation of applications to the Physicians' Professional Standards Board. Communicates with Human Resources personnel reference requirements, appointments, board actions, citizenship, drug screening, etc. Interacts with insurance companies, courts, attorneys, and other institutions in retrieving information and verifying malpractice allegation reported by the applicant and/or the National Practitioner Data Bank. Prepares official board action for review by the Physician's Professional Standards Board, Human Resources, Chief of Staff and Medical Center Director. Collects, compiles, and tracks data in support of an organization's credentialing and privileging program. Uses word processing and database software applications to prepare reports. Reviews documents, reports and applications for omissions and inconsistencies to ensure data entry is complete and accurate. Enters data into an automated tracking system. Promotion Potential:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Your specialized experience must include work in a clerical or administrative capacity with extensive use of computer systems and software to include work-processing, spreadsheet management and e-mail, completion of memoranda, tracking milestones, communicating with multiple levels within a medical facility, providing customer service, responding to inquiries and using a variety of office equipment. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work.
