Executes medical orders, performs prescribed treatments, administers medications, and assists in accurate maintenance of patient records. Promotes and provides growth of self and others by conducting continuing education for professional and paraprofessional personnel. Acts as patient advocate, coordinates patient care with all members of the interdisciplinary team; addresses special needs or concerns; ensures age appropriate care is provided for patient population ranging from young adult to geriatric. Participates in interdisciplinary team approach to ensure quality, timely, and ethical care. Develops psychiatric nursing care plans. Provides a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors. Provides psychotherapy to individuals, family and groups. Conducts patient and family education. Implements medical orders and prescribed procedures as ordered by a physician. Improves skills and broadens knowledge through formal and continuing education programs. Ensures daily staff assignments are completed. Participates in unit continuous quality improvement activities by collecting and interpreting data, identifying trends, and making recommendations. Administer medications per physician's orders. Performs additional duties (Crash Cart monitor, Infection Control monitor, etc.) as needed. Attend and be an active participant in monthly staff meetings. Assumes role as Charge Nurse as needed and acts as a preceptor to new staff. Work Schedule:

A current, unrestricted RN licensure from any state or territory of the U.S. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing recognized by the VA (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Demonstrated abilities in establishment of priorities and time management Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse interdisciplinary environment Knowledge of Patient Education (adult learning) principles Preferred Requirements:
BSN and/or Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing recognized by the VA (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience within the last 3 years Current proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS)/ACLS through the American Heart Association (Required prior to assuming clinical duties and must remain current -VHA Directive 11-77) Experience in VA and/or DoD healthcare Minimum of two (2) years of nursing practice in an inpatient psychiatric unit Must be flexible to work all 12 hour shifts to include nights, days and evenings. Demonstrated abilities in establishment of priorities, time management, and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Grade Determinations:
The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. heavy lifting of 45 pounds and over, heavy carrying of 45 pounds and over, straight pulling, pushing, reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, both hands required, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending, ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously, near vision correctable at 13 to 16 to Jaeger 1-4, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
