Highly Desirable 1972 Porsche 914 Targa New to our Pleasanton showroom is this highly impressive 1972 Porsche 914 2 Door Targa with silver exterior paint, a orange racing stripe and a black vinyl interior.
You'll find a 2.
3L, 2315cc four cylinder engine under the hood with AMC heads, hydraulic lifters and dual 44mm Weber carburetors paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
This outstanding classic also has been restored with Zimmerman rotors, refinished Fuchs Carrera wheels (5-lug conversion), a new suspension and CV axles, a new interior with OE German carpeting, a refinished black matte Targa top and far too much more to list.
This 1972 Porsche 914 Targa is in outstanding overall condition as well and it is available at a sensational price due to a salvage title from decades ago.
Fully Restored for Excellent Performance & Curb Appeal The current owner acquired this 1972 Porsche 914 Targa back in 2012 and he informs us that it's been in the Bay Area the majority of its lifetime.
Unfortunately, we do not have documentation showing why this classic received a salvage title back in the late 1970's/early 1980's, but we do not see any evidence of an accident.
This classic received new exterior paint in 2012 and had the drivetrain professionally rebuilt shortly thereafter, upping the horsepower of this classic up to 140 (from the factory 95 HP stock).
The overall performance on this example is excellent and it is a true pleasure to drive on the open road.
Acceleration, handling and braking are all well above average for a classic of this caliber.
Additionally, this 1972 Porsche 914 2 Door Targa shows great in person with beautiful body lines, above average exterior paint plus very nice trim & glass.
The Targa top is also in excellent condition and you'll find an immaculate engine compartment that's been nicely refreshed.
The new interior also suits this classic well with and it really compliments the overall performance and drivability.
There are minimal imperfections to be found throughout but nothing that detracts from the curb appeal overall.
A Tremendous Overall Value at the Current Asking Price Overall, this 1972 Porsche 914 2 Door Targa is an unbelievable classic sports car that would be perfect as a high-end daily or weekend driver.
Due to the salvage title, this outstanding classic can be driven and enjoyed guilt-free by the next owner.
It will not remain available for long at the current asking price.
